Work Experience

Undergraduate Research Assistant: Jan 2013-July 2014
As an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Dr. Raynor's Healthy Eating and Activity Lab, I assist my lab mates in planning and coordinating their respective studies. This involves preparing session materials, measuring foods, recruitment, appointment scheduling, and data entry. I am also conducting a study of my own; it is a basic human-subjects study on food habituation- you can see more about this on my "Work Samples" page. I could not ask for more out of Dr. Raynor and the other HEAL faculty, as they are always willing to answer questions and give advice. They have given me sufficient training on the basics of research, and I continue to learn new skills every time I'm in the lab. This position as a research assistant has sparked my interest in the field, and I am excited to use the skills I have developed in the lab and be involved in future research projects.

Shift Manager at Rita’s Italian Ice: August 2010-2014
As a Shift Manager at Rita's Italian Ice, I am in charge of supervising and training employees, organizing and directing catering events, assessing and ordering inventory, overseeing cash drawers, and making deposits. I have acquired major responsibilities and am expected to set a good example for my fellow employees in terms of daily tasks, i.e. assembling products and customer service. It is my job to ensure that all tasks are done adequately and efficiently and that the customers' needs are met.

Childcare/Personal Assistant: December 2009- January 2012
As a babysitter, I was responsible for many aspects of the child's daily life including transportation to and from school, reviewing homework and helping with projects, and preparing meals. This job also involved housekeeping, running errands, and grocery shopping. This experience required much flexibility, time management, patience, and multi-tasking. Being responsible for a child is a huge undertaking; this experience strengthened the aforesaid personal qualities, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work for this family.
