Short-term: My short-term goals include obtaining
A’s in the remainder of my undergraduate classes; completing my undergraduate research project, conduct
analyses, & presenting at EURECA; obtaining as much experience as possible
in dietetics via shadowing and volunteering; continuing to develop my knowledge
and skills in the field; acceptance into one of my top picks for grad school;
and graduating in May 2014 with a high GPA.
Long-term: In grad school, I am excited to
obtain an abundance of knowledge in the field of Dietetics, acquire new
experiences, and meet the requirements for becoming a Registered Dietitian, i.e.
passing the RD exam. I plan to assert the knowledge I’ve gained and will
continue to receive through coursework, research, and volunteer experience in
proceeding through graduate coursework and clinical rotations. Additionally, I
hope to pinpoint an area of expertise to carry into my professional career,
whether that be Clinical or in the area of Public Health. Upon completing a
Master’s Degree and Dietetic Internship program, I plan to become a Registered
Dietitian.
I do not yet know the specific area I want to
work in, but at this point I know that I am very interested in research,
working with the community, and promoting nutrition education to a population
that, for lack of better words, has seen better times in terms of health.
